What type of fuel do I need?

Most domestic customers use kerosene. If you are in doubt, your tank should have a sticker on it telling you which fuel it requires.

If you are missing a sticker contact your local depot, who can provide you with one.

I live in a remote area, can you reach me?

Carlton Fuels has an extensive fleet including 4 wheel and ‘Diddy’ tankers, ensuring we can reach you. If your tank is sited away from the road, we have 120ft hoses to make your delivery.

When will you deliver?

Delivery periods vary and this will be confirmed when you place an order. Typically 48 hours is normal in summer, but it could be longer in winter.

If you wish we can arrange for a call or text to alert you on the day before you are due to get your fuel, please let us know when ordering.

What should I do if there is a leak in my tank?

In the event of a leak we recommend that you contact your tank manufacturer immediately.

In the meantime, there are some simple steps you can take to try and prevent any substantial damage.

  • Rub the crack with soap which can act as a temporary fix for smaller cracks.
  • Products such as a clay based leak sealing putty (available from selected retailers) can also temporarily seal the crack/leak. You should then look to organise a tank replacement.
  • Finally, you should contact the 24-hour Environment Agency's UK Pollution Incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60.

How do I pay for my fuel?

There are a number of ways to pay including:

  • Automated Payment Line - 0345 026 4069
  • Credit/debit card when ordering
  • A Direct Debit Easy Payment Plan
  • Cheque

Can I get my invoice electronically?

Yes you can, just send an email to register@myheatingoil.net with your name and account number and we'll do the rest.
